Prevention Scientist II (National Guard Programs), ID# 2024-4983
HJF is seeking a Prevention Scientist II to develop and implement public health- and prevention-focused research projects for the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, and primarily the National Guard Programs- Integrated Primary Prevention and Behavioral Health Programs. Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team focused on addressing prevention and behavioral health needs within the military. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific and systems/organizational principles to support the development of preventive efforts and behavioral health interventions. Collaborates on the development of project activities, researching complex public health or policy issues and supporting the development of possible solutions and policy recommendations. Identifies policy or research gaps, providing recommendations that are supported by empirical findings to advise stakeholders. Qualifications include: Doctoral Degree required. Preference for degrees in Public Health, Applied Psychology, IO Psychology, Health psychology, Clinical Research, Social Work, Research Psychology, or related fields. Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience required.
Research Psychologist
Location: Bethesda,MD
Applicant will assist in scientific research on the effects of disasters, trauma, and stress on individuals and communities. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Psychology (with a research emphasis), 2-5 years' experience in research design and instrumentation, and experience/interest in trauma, disaster, suicidality, and stress-related research. Experience in research design and instrumentation for epidemiologic, clinical, public health or social psychology research, ability to perform behavioral science research including statistical data analysis, design, interpretation of results, preparation of manuscripts and grant applications and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are required.
Behavioral Science Researcher
Location: Bethesda,MD
HJF is seeking a Behavioral Science Researcher to support the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) within the Department of Psychiatry located at the Uniformed Services University (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CSTS.
Data Analyst/Biostatistician
Location: Bethesda,MD
HJF is seeking a Data Analyst/Biostatistician to support the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) within the Department of Psychiatry of the Uniformed Services University (USU). This position is located at the Rockledge Office in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CSTS. US Citizenship is required for this position.
The Center’s work addresses a wide scope of trauma and disaster exposure and their outcomes, including post traumatic stress disorder, suicide, depression, and grief. The Center works in a public health framework and has substantial “big data” projects. Responsibilities are to provide biostatistical support for clinical and/or laboratory research. This involves performing statistical analysis on data collected from clinical trials and/or research studies.
